This first-of-its-kind survey offers a powerful, humanizing look at outgoing federal workers — along with actionable insights for state and local government hiring managers.
Join WFA and the National League of Cities on Monday, April 28, for a webinar where we will dive deeper into our survey findings, and provide a set of actionable takeaways for state and local government hiring managers looking to attract federal talent to their communities.
Civic Match— our program connecting federal workers and campaign staff with meaningful roles in state and local governments — continues to grow every hour. There are currently 8,300+ jobseekers using the platform.
Please share Civic Match with state and local government colleagues who are recruiting for open roles and within your network:
Additionally, Civic Match hosted two in-person events in DC this month, including Public Service on Tap: Your Next Chapter in State & Local Government at Right Proper Brewing Company and the Maryland State and Local Government Career Fair.
At Public Service on Tap, the room was buzzing with mission-driven energy, peer connections, and practical support for navigating career change. The event featured a resume station with real-time feedback on tailoring resumes for state and local government jobs, coaching conversations with experienced professionals, and meaningful connections with other federal civil servants.
At the Maryland State and Local Government Career Fair we met thousands of federal civil servants from across the DMV region. We also met several job seekers who were in interview processes because of Civic Match! Thanks to our state and local government partners from across the DMV area who participated in the event.
Join us in celebrating Civic Match job seeker Sabrina Sussman, recently hired to lead Nashville’s Choose How You Move regional transportation initiative! A former U.S. DOT official, she brings 20 years of experience to the role.
In recent weeks, we've seen hires in Nashville, New Jersey, New York City, Boston, and San Francisco — testaments to the demand for committed public sector talent at the state and local levels.
Resources like Civic Match make a difference. Civic Match staff are getting me in front of hiring managers for jobs across the country. I haven’t landed a job yet, but I’m more confident knowing that Civic Match is helping me find and connect with opportunities that I’d excel in. It’s been good for my spirit, too.
